• a collective studio is a practice with an architectural background that focuses on projects at the intersection of architecture, art, design and communication. The projects often have a theoretical approach and explore interdisciplinary collaboration at the numerous interfaces that architecture has with other fields, be it through texts, designs or workshops. This is how the magazine Schnitt was born. The name a collective studio stands for interdisciplinary collaboration and down-to-earthness and aims to convey that the architecture industry is not about individuals standing out, but about the results of joint collaboration, which is part of any process.

  • Caroline Steffen (DE,1995) is an architect with experience in both architecture and interior design projects. Working on community-based projects was part of her master's education at Alanus Hochschule and has shaped her way of working and thinking. In addition to a collective studio, Caroline Steffen is the founder of architektur kollektiv - an online community for planners through which she aims to connect people in the industry and advocate for more unity.
